Lakeside Oasis
Scope
Having replaced the triangular roof-top window on this beautiful Lake Norman home in the past, the homeowners approached Lasting Impressions Home Solutions LLC to replace the stucco with high-end James Hardie Artisan V-Groove siding. At the same time, they wanted to cover their existing patio with a 30'x25' metal roof-addition.
Below are two pictures of this home before we started this complex project.
With the patio protected, the scaffolding went up, and our crew began the complete removal of the old stucco down to the OSB boards. To protect the home from the elements, we used James Hardie Wrap to cover the entire back of the house.
Unfortunately, over the years, some water had gotten behind the stucco damaging the OSB boards and the framing in two areas.
Along the exterior kitchen wall, we had to take extra care during the repair because of the marble backsplash and countertops on the inside.
The second area with water damage was around the bedroom window. To properly remediate the issue, we removed the old window and completely opened up the exterior wall.
The homeowners decided to install a brand new 112" Jeld-Wen window on the lower floor, allowing for a picturesque view of the lake.
With the water damaged areas remediated, we began to build the 30'x25' covered patio addition.
We used IKO-Storm Shield for water and ice protection before installing the country ribbed standing seam metal roof on the new covered patio addition.
The siding crew then installed the new custom trim around the arched windows and doors.
With the prep work completed, the crew started the installation of the James Hardie Artisan V-Groove siding. The blind nail application features an innovative lock-joint system that creates a beautiful high-end seamless appearance with clean contemporary lines.
The boards come factory-primed and will be painted later.
We used two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint on the exterior siding, trim, tongue and groove ceiling, and the two Tuscan style round fiberglass columns that support the new 14-foot high covered patio.
Now that we completed the back of this beautiful Lake Norman residence, we are looking forward to returning and working on the next phase of this home's transformation. Stay tuned.
