Scope

This whole-home exterior renovation included

• all new single-hung ProVia windows,

• dark oak Heritage Wood-Grain Textured ProVia Fiberglass door with matching sidelites;

• ThermaTru double french doors for the basement and a ThermaTru single french door for the deck;

• complete James Hardie residing using Cedarmill Hardie Plank and Smooth HardiePanel Vertical Siding in Color Plus Iron Gray from their Statement Collection;

• James Hardie Wrap;

• James Hardie Trim in Arctic White.

Here are a few pictures of the house before we started the work.

We started the transformation by installing new ProVia single-hung energy-efficient windows.

The homeowners had suspected water was getting in behind the exterior trim of the old door. When we removed the old door, we could see some water damage.

We remedied the water damage, installed a new sill pan, and sealed the opening with flashing tape to prevent future water issues.

The homeowners chose as their new front door a dark oak Heritage Wood-Grain Textured ProVia Fiberglass door with matching sidelites.

We removed the single solid basement door and enlarged the opening for the new ThermaTru double french doors.

Because the opening is twice as wide, our framers installed a longer lintel to support the structure above. Now the new french doors allow daylight into the basement where none was before.

Like on all siding jobs, we started at the lowest elevation. We worked our way from the backyard up both sides to the front of the house.

As the homeowners plan to extend their deck in the future, it was the perfect time to install the ledger board to the home.

The combination of James Hardie's smooth vertical panels and Cedarmill planks in Iron Gray creates a distinctively crisp and beautiful look when contrasted with Arctic White trim.

What a transformation this house has undergone. The new iron-gray-colored siding, windows, front door entrance, and french doors have given this home a clean, crisp, yet elegant look enhancing its charming curb appeal.
